In short
- Strictly necessary cookies make the basket, checkout, login and payments work. They are always on.
- We also use analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and advertising (Google Ads, Pinterest) tools. These are optional.
- Your saved items and light or dark choice stay in your own browser.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or use the opt-out links in section 6 and on our Data Preferences page.
This summary is a guide. The full wording below is what applies.
01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. They let the site remember you between pages and visits. We also use similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, which work in much the same way, and we cover them in this policy too. Some are set by us (“first party”) and some by other organisations whose services we use (“third party”).
02The rules
In the UK, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR set the rules. We may place strictly necessary cookies without asking, because the site cannot work without them (for example, keeping items in your basket). For other cookies, the law expects clear information and your choice. This page is that information, and section 6 explains how to make your choice.
03The types we use
Strictly necessary
Basket, checkout, login, payment security and your saved preferences. Always on.
Functional
Optional sign-in with Google, review widgets and similar conveniences.
Analytics
Help us see how the site is used, so we can fix and improve it. Optional.
Advertising
Measure the results of our adverts on Google and Pinterest. Optional.
04The cookies and storage we use
Lifetimes are the providers' published defaults and can change. Some cookies appear only when you use the related feature, such as checkout or sign-in.

05Third parties
The organisations above act under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to read: Google, Microsoft, Pinterest, PayPal and Trustpilot. We also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is sent to Google when a page loads. Further detail about the personal data these services involve is in our Privacy Policy.
06How to control cookies
In your browser
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most let you block third-party cookies only. Menus differ, so search your browser's help for “cookies”. If you block strictly necessary cookies, the basket and checkout will not work. The ICO explains your options at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies.
